Doug Hutchinson thinks his cultural appropriation is special

The owner of the missing image has this to say: “While this is not one of my best efforts, and it may be a bit much, it is inappropriate for you to post and publicly disparage my work without permission and without even the slightest idea of it’s background. It takes little effort to find items that can just as easily be considered inappropriate within the pages of artisans linked to your pages. Without seeing the full body of my work, it is impossible for you to judge this one example objectively. My work has not only been accepted by many but additional work of a similar nature has been commissioned by First Nation Royalty. This image is not authorized to be on ANY public website. As such, it is a matter for private discussion and not public defamation and libel. I would be happy to discuss the merits of this particular work with you by private email, if you like but you may not publish this image without my permission, particularly in the negative light that you seek to portray it. Regards, Doug Hutchinson” As such, I’m taking down the image because of copyright. The image, which was of a white woman in a headdress (of course) with a skimpy ‘bra’ made of bits of a warrior’s breastplate, with a choker and a skimpy little ‘buckskin’ skirt was pretty similar to the hundreds of other images you can find here, none of which are special. Doug Hutchinson, there is no such thing as First Nations Royalty, and your astounding ignorance is unsurprising, given the subject matter of your ‘art’. You also need to study the law of defamation before complaining I’ve defamed you by pointing out you’ve engaged in cultural appropriation, and that your image is a shameful and unoriginal one. Thanks so much for contacting me and laying your ignorance down for all to see.
