tânisi nitôtêmitik!
I know I don’t post here all that much anymore, but since I’m trying to wean myself off social media to make space for more work offline, I may start up again.
Canada is the guest of honour at the Frankfurt Book Fair this year, and into 2021, and due to COVID has had to organize a series of digital programming. From the Canada Heritage site: “The theme for Canada’s literary program for the Frankfurt Book Fair is “Singular Plurality.” The slogan captures Canada’s diversity and culture, where everyone is unique but connected by shared values.”
I recently had an interesting conversation with André Alexis, Kim Thúy, Yann Martel, Jaafar Abdul-Karim, Tanja Kinkel, Ulrike Draesner and John Ralston Saul on the issues of plurality and inclusion. Check it out!

Thanks for sending out this video – deling into and honouring plurality should be an ongoing endeavour in these lands commonly called Canada.

Thanks for flagging this authors interview on plurality and inclusion, Chelsea. Highly thought-provoking! One (of many) takeaways for me — how a writer experiences their connection with and representation of a community and then the accompanying obligations.
