I apologise for the delay in getting this done. I had to comb through my email and paypal accounts as well as double checking the visible donors and anonymous donors on the Ulluriaq SmartBoard Campaign page to ensure I didn’t miss anyone that didn’t want to be missed!
Before I reveal the winners of the two pairs of Manitobah Mukluks, I want to once again thank everyone who contributed or shared this campaign on their social networks. It was absolutely mind-boggling how quickly donations flooded in. Within the first 3 days of launching the campaign, we were already at $3000! A thousand dollars a day!? Seriously? Never in my wildest dreams did I see that happening! But it did. And not only did we meet our goal of $5000, we went $550 over it!
I’ve made the order for our classroom, and the SmartBoard should be installed either next week or the week after. I haven’t told my students yet, because I want it to be a surprise. In addition, the CEO of LEARN Quebec has offered me some pretty hardcore training on the SmartBoard so it doesn’t end up just being used as an expensive white board slash projector.
These words I’m writing cannot begin to express the excitement and gratitude I’m feeling right now. What I think I may do in the near future, assuming I have any time to do it (this teaching gig is a serious time consumer!) is show my thanks the best way I know how…by creating a specific page on this blog to share lesson plans and resources I’ve been having success with in my classroom. I recognise that I teach in a fairly specialised situation, but it’s not entirely unique. I’ve had to become very creative with resources and I’ve discovered treasures I never dreamed of before. I would have LOVED having a good resource to turn to in order to help me put together materials for my class, and I’m hoping other teachers out there will be able to make use of such a thing.
Alright, let’s get to it!
To ensure the fairest draw possible, I created an account at Random Picker. I put everyone’s name into an excel file and imported it into the draw database. Everyone’s name was entered only once, as I did not distinguish between those who donated $10 or $500.
Without further ado, the winners are:
I have send each lady a message through the Indiegogo site, but I do not have an email for any of the people who contributed. I’ll spread this info here, and on my other social media sites. The winners can send me a message here or on any of those sites (it will remain unpublished) so we can set up delivery of your awesome Manitobah Mukluks!
